Critical for spindle function and accurate chromosome segregation during mitosis since microtuble detyronisation regulates mitotic spindle length and postioning . Acts as an activator of angiogenesis: expressed in infiltrating mononuclear cells in the sprouting front to promote angiogenesis . Plays a role in axon formation .
